THE “NLEdirect” (tapeless) PROCESS:
Client
- creates a small digital video file and posts it to FTP site
Captioning Company
- creates verbatim transcript
- creates caption file (edit, sync and place text)
- performs caption quality check
- creates a black CC video file and emails the file to client
Client
- adds the black CC video file to their project in their NLE system and lays the program to tape with closed captions
THE “TAPE” (standard) PROCESS:
Client
- provides finalized master tape
Captioning Company
- creates verbatim transcript
- creates caption file (edit, sync and place text)
- performs quality check of captions
- creates a CC master
- ships CC master tape(s) to client, to station, or to other location
